Wish Build 01

Wish Build Number 01

Those who know me know that I’m an avid gamer. I’m a Sony fan and I’ve owned every generation of the PlayStation console from the PSX to PS4. Gaming is life, gaming is love.

First, while I am a Sony fan I do not take part in the usual console fights and hate that in on the internet. I do not hate the XBox, nor do I believe all that PC master race bs(Which is ironic considering what’s below).

Recently Civilization VI was released and its a game I really want to play. But it’s only on PC and my laptop cannot run it… properly. My only options are to either get a new laptop or to do something I last did back when I was in university, build a gaming rig.

Finding the right rig

I was kinda shocked when I looked online to see what the current build landscape looked like. Things have changed drastically. Up till now, my worry was, do I get my PlayStation on release date or wait a month or two for them to fix stuff. Standardization, in my view, is the beauty of console gaming. I do not have to worry about whether it will run a game I want to play in the future. Any PS4 game will run on any PS4. I like that simplicity.

Back on topic, I spent a few hours browsing online, looking at the case, motherboards, CPUs, Graphics Cards etc. And while it’s a butt load of information, it was strangely fun. Then I thought, wouldn’t it be cool if there was a site or app that can filter out stuff that incompatible etc… Then I googled and found a million and a half such sites. Sweet.

Below is my first wish build. I just picked stuff I wanted or that I thought would be cool. I didn’t put too much thought into the color schemes because I’m color challenged and I can not color coordinate to save my life. Weird for someone who did web development at one point and time but that’s the sad truth.

While I like the potential build below, I doubt I’ll build it for a few reasons.

  1. I’m currently homeless, that’s another story I’ll write about another time.
  2. I’m sure this isn’t the best I can do. I want to do more research to find the perfect “me” build
  3. It’s not water cooled. I do not know whether air cooling in inferior to water cooling, I just think water cooling looks kick ass!

So without more stupid chatter, here is wish build number 1.

I’m pretty sure I can play Civ VI on this… while playing Skyrim. I enjoyed looking up this build and will definitely do this again, so watch out for more build in the near future. Here’s hoping I’ll get better at this as I go on.
